The book Deadmeat was adapted into a stage play by Q and performed at the prestigious West Yorkshire Playhouse and directed by Jude Kelly with a high profile cast which included Sir Ian McKellen in one of the roles.
The theatre was turned into a night club environment, with a bar, waiters, large screen's, a DJ, a live band and computers with internet connections, which allowed the audience to interact with the action, it was truly a multi-media experience.
Q took the ideas and format he developed in the theatre and wrote, directed and produced an interactive short of Deadmeat which married the images from his website and played in front of features in the movie halls. By now Q, had got involved Adam and Ben Laurie two brothers who were both ex-hackers, the brother's had the technology, companies and money and Q found himself part of a group of internet poineers who were supported by big technology companies and they developed digital brands that they distributed across the world wide web.
5. Q SIGNS A BIG DEAL WITH A MAJOR PUBLISHER
Q signed a major deal with Sceptre an imprint of Hodder and Stoughton, they published an updated version of Deadmeat and sold over 20,000 copies to mainstream buyers. Jeffery Archer the bestselling author became Q’s mentor and hailed him as the new voice of literature, they were guests on numerous prime time TV shows and written about in the tabloids and the broadsheets.

As well writing poetry and he toured around the world and performed his spoken word pieces and read Deadmeat with an eight piece live band. He was living part of his dream but he still had to make the film of the book.
4. THE BIRTH OF Q
Kwabena came back to London from Africa and immediately started writing his novel Deadmeat. When he was finished, he printed and published it himself, picked up the wooden glasses Simon Foxton had given him a few years back at a photo shoot, put them on and the character Q was born.
Q put his books into the back of his fluorescent Qmobile and drove off into the night and started selling them inside and outside nightclubs, raves, festivals at markets and by mail order. When clubbers saw the Qmobile parked outside a club, they would ask a bouncer to go inside and get Q and he would come out and they would buy their books.
Q created his own marketing strategy and sold over 4,000 copies and gained a wide following and lots of column inches in the London press. He modelled himself on the hip-hop music scene, he would sell books the same way rappers like the American rappers did in their cities. Soon, he found himself thrust in front of numerous TV and radio shows.
Fab 5 Freddy the host of the popular show YO! MTV Raps, met Q in a night club and bought a copy of his book, then put him on his show. Yo! MTV Raps was a global hit, a number one show around the world. Q became an inspiration to other writers and a whole generation of indie writers were born, who like Q were quickly picked up by major publishing houses, just like the rap stars. Q's strategy paid off.
3. MR. JOHNSON
On the set of Mr. Johnson, Kwabena had a conversation with Bruce Beresford and Pierce Brosnan about writing which opened up a new train of thought for the aspiring writer. Bruce told him that Hollywood made a lot of films based on book’s, Mister Johnson was written by Joyce Cary. Bruce told Kwabena that if he wrote a book and that was successful then he stood a good chance of breaking into the movie industry by turning the book it into a movie.
2. NICK KNIGHT & KWABENA
One day Kwabena accompanied a friend to a fashion shoot and was approached by fashion photographer Nick Knight who persuaded him to join in the shoot. This chance encounter led to a long lasting collaboration and together they created ground breaking campaigns and images for top fashion designers.
It was during one of these shoots that Nick’s stylists, Simon Foxton brought in a pair of wooden glasses that he had carried around for years. Kwabena picked them and tried them on, they looked great on him. Simon had never been able to carry them off, he thought it was now time they had a new owner and gave them to Kwabena.
Nick Knight, Director of SHOWstudio, is among the world's most influential photographers. He has won numerous awards for his editorial work for Vogue, Dazed & Confused, i-D, The Face and Visionaire, as well as for fashion and advertising projects for clients including Alexander McQueen, Calvin Klein, Christian Dior, Levi Strauss, Yohji Yamamoto and Yves Saint Laurent. Knight has also shot record covers for Björk, David Bowie, Kylie and Massive Attack. As a fashion photographer, Nick Knight has consistently challenged conventional notions of beauty. Knight's work has been exhibited at international institutions such as the Victoria & Albert Museum, Saatchi Gallery, The Photographers Gallery and Hayward Gallery. He has also produced a permanent installation, Plant Power, for the Natural History Museum in London
1. ARIA
Kwabena Manso began his career as an actor in a British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) prime time show called “SOUTH OF THE BORDER,” it was promptly followed by leading roles in director Ken Russell’s segment of the feature film “Aria” and “Mr. Johnson” directed Bruce Beresford.
However, it was when he was an actor in the South of the Border that the writing bug hit him, he plucked up courage and approached the producer of the show with a storyline for the second season. He was commissioned to write an episode and it was aired with the highest ratings.
Kwabena continued to act in leading roles in prime time shows such as “Ruth Rendell’s Mysteries” and “Big George is Dead”, but all the time he was studying the scripts and learning the craft of writing.
